Top responsibilities:

  • Provides subject matter expertise in one of the diverse areas of specialization of Human Resources, as listed above
  • Is responsible for developing and proposing overall HR programs for the organization
  • Researches and analyzes for best practice initiatives and creates leading-edge programs for the employees
  • Designs and implements the related policies
  • Reinforces the desired company culture - Corporate HR focus tends to be more long-term
  • Delivers leading-edge Human Resources programs that will help the organization to perform
  • Answer the client's needs through Human Resource initiatives
  • Accelerates the organization's capabilities and ensures a strategic investment in our people that positions Bell distinctively and successfully in the marketplace
  • Works closely with HR Line OPS to provide solutions to business units

Main challenges:

  • To have a deep understanding of the subject (e.g. benefits) and understand the client's exact needs
  • To ensure proper communications between all HR organizations in order to gain the proper support
  • To understand the needs of the business
  • To always focus on anticipating the future. We constantly need to consider issues such as: Are our benefits structured so that we can successfully attract and retain the talent we need? etc.

Interaction:

  • He/she is in contact with the clients: HR LineOperations Consultants and Leaders
  • Also in contact with the end client and employees, through focus groups, etc.
  • On a consulting basis: Transactional HR (employee services), Industrial Relations, Legal, etc.

Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations/Business Administration or in a related area, or an equivalent education. Experience to be determined based on the position.

Generic competencies

  • Business acumen and HR knowledge
  • Project management, change management and people development
  • Consulting skills (Analysis, communication and team work/partnering)

Note: Most jobs require HR professional certification, in Ontario via the CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional), and in Quebec via ORHRI (Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines et en relations industrielles agrées du Québec).
