Network Planning, Direction and Investment exists in order to direct Bell's network investments to maximize economic profit and enhance network capabilities to deliver current and future services.

Key objectives

This team's mandate is to plan and manage the implementation of new Network infrastructures supporting broadband, video and IP demands across Canada and into the US.

Main challenges

As layer collapsing becomes a reality, effectively planning Bell's network becomes increasingly more complicated. Additional challenges will come from adapting to the continued shift in the marketplace toward the reliable and robust network that Bell is known for, while still offering a broad range of cutting-edge video, HSA and IP-based services.

Interaction

Network Planning, Direction and Investment is a key interface between Marketing, Capital Management and Network Provisioning.

Qualifications

Management

Management positions in NP&P are wide-ranging in function and the qualifications required. We require fast thinkers who have a solid understanding of the business and can learn about network technology and processes. Candidates who have strong leadership skills will be key to our success. Post-secondary degrees or diplomas in Business, Engineering or Project Management are strong assets, but other backgrounds may be considered as well, depending on experience.

Non-management

Non-management positions (represented by the CTEA) in NP&P are also wide-ranging in function. Generally, we require employees who are quick learners with strong PC skills, who are willing to take initiative and are comfortable with numbers and analysis.
