Customer Solutions Engineering, CP2 and CP3, depending on the level of expertise (intermediate vs. senior)

The following profile is based on the Customer Solutions Engineering (CP2).

Top responsibilities

  • Acts as a leader and mobilises the customer team, in order to convert business needs into solutions and services offered by Bell (IP Networks and Telecommunication)
  • Is accountable for the technological aspect of a solution, with a mandate to accompany customers in the development of complex solutions and ensure short and long term business relationships and customer satisfaction
  • Keeps abreast of leading edge technology in the customer's specific market/industry
  • Assumes responsibility for technical studies/recommendations covering overall customer IT applications and network
  • Designs networking solutions (LAN/WAN): evaluates business needs, identifies any stakes, ensures feasibility analysis (develops a strategic/technological plan), conceives and integrates potential solutions (including design ing and determining the optimal solution, developing a detailed equipment list and writing a final consultation report).

Qualifications

Critical qualifications/competencies:

  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry , more specifically in the following fields: LAN, WAN, Voice, IP Telephony, Wireless and security technologies
  • Negotiating skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Fluently bilingual (reading and writing in both French and English)
  • Ability to make fast and efficient decisions
  • Creativity and innovation in the development of problem-solving abilities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment
  • Technical know-how: general knowledge of Bell products and services
  • Interest in acquiring technical and business knowledge relating to one or many
    customer(s)

 

Knowledge and training required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
  • Certification for major manufacturers (ex: CCNA, CCDA) is considered an asset
  • Business acumen
  • Office systems software (MS Office, Netscape/Explorer, Visio)

 

Experience required:

  • Three years of pre-sales and customer facing experience
  • Three years experience developing customers' network solutions LAN/WAN related to emerging technologies
  • Pertinent experience in the field of consulting services is considered an asset

 

Other qualifications/competencies considered:

  • Internetworking/cabling: Novell, Windows NT, Ethernet, Token Ring, TCP/IP, network management, IBDN, Fibre Optics
  • Network services/protocols (Access/transport): MPLS, Lan Extension, ATM, Hyperstream (frame relay), Megaplan, ISDN, client-server services, network management
  • Voice services: PBX/key systems, Centrex
  • E-Commerce: Internet, Intranet
